Modern Boys Benefit from “Rites-of-Passage” Ceremonies

I read a very impressive article by Jeremy Lee Shub, an artist and life coach living in the Australian Yarra Valley, and specializing in Rites-of-Passage Ceremonies for adolescent boys. His complete article, appearing in the Australian magazine Living Now, can be read HERE.
The first half of his article discusses benefits of coming-of-age ceremonies in traditional and tribal societies. The second half of his article describes the types of coming-of-age ceremonies Jeremy puts together for modern boys in modern societies. He made me wish I was one of those boys.
He points out that a boy has two births, one out of his mother’s body, and the second into the world of men. Both the boys, and the men who participate in the boys’ experience, benefit in many ways. Society benefits from more responsible, mature young men.
Jeremy’s website White Heart Dreaming can be found HERE.
