Lasagne
Each year we do a fun class survey of the new third-graders. The questions on the survey were made up by the third-graders themselves, asking the questions they wanted to know about each other. Then we bind it into a book each year that students from our class can check out to read.
One of the survey questions asks for each child’s top three favorite foods. I compared the surveys from 2002 with those of 2007, and I’m seeing some changes to healthier foods in some of the kids:
Top Food Choices from 2007 (in order):
lasagna (8)
pizza (9)
spaghetti (8)
Chinese food (7)

chocolate (5)
meat (3)
all vegetables (3)
chicken (3)
McDonald’s (3)
curry (2)
watermelon (2)
Pizza Hut (2)
Stew (from our local country) (2)
hamburgers (2)
Here are a few others which were only mentioned one time each (in 2007): crepes, cake, jelly cake, couscous, salad, crab, ice cream, fish, pinieapple cake, spring rolls, fruit salad, macaroni, soup, rice with chicken, and McDonald’s French Fries.
Top Food Choices from 2002 (in order):
pizza (20)

spaghetti (9)
chicken (9)
French fries (8)
chocolate (6)
Pannini sandwiches (4)

Pringles’ potato chips (3)
ice cream (3)
cheese (3)
steak (3)
other sandwiches (3)
steak (3)
vegetables (2)
fish (2)
Some other foods which received one vote each (in 2002) were: chocolate cake, bananas, strawberries, oranges, couscous, hamburger, carrots, zuchinni, popcorn, pigeon, rice, meat, nuts, and mashed potatoes.
