Britsh Teacher Jailed in Ethiopia for Helping Expose a Paedophile in a Children’s Charity Organization

African correspondent Rob Crilly has written an article telling of the British teacher’s plight.

This article, and others, tells of Jill Campbell’s conviction for defamatation against a Swiss charity in Ethiopia, after she helped convict the charity director of multiple counts of child sexual abuse.

Director Christie, of the Swiss CharityTerre Des Hommes-Lausanne (TdH), was found guilty of abusing boys under 15. One of Christie’s associates posted a confession of child sexual abuse on the internet, and then committed suicide.

Jill Campbell, with her husband Gary, compiled a great deal of evidence, and then circulated the dossier widely–which is why they were sued by the charity.

The Campbell’s lawyers said they must apologize to the court, or be found in contempt, and go to jail for six months. Jill’s husband has apologized so that at least one parent can stay at home with their own children during the time of the jail sentence. She is supposed to find out today if she will actually have to serve the sentence.
