No Phone - No Internet - All the Lines Stolen Again!

Thieves Stealing Our Phone Lines for the Copper Wire! Image from:
http://www.scialarm.com/images/burgler.jpgOne of the biggest problems that we have at our school is that we are a few kilometers outside of town, on the end of the telephone line. About six or seven times each year, thieves cut and steal the lines somewhere between town and our school (usually over weekends) in order to sell the copper wire contained inside. So we are without telephones or Internet for several days at a time. Some teachers and administrators have cell phones, but they are personal and expensive.
The last time this happened was only one month ago. One parent sent me an e-mail at home saying she had tried to call the school and no one answered all day! She calmed down when I explained that the phone wires had been cut out and stolen.
I heard some recent talk of plans to bury the phone lines, but as I haven’t seen any buried yet anywhere in my city, I’m not holding my breath!

Encase the cable in well-secured steel conduit and the theives probably won’t bother you, I guess.
